Los Tres de Winters will present a free outdoor performance from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Rotary Park Gazebo at Main Street at Railroad Avenue in front of the Community Center in Winters.
The trio plays Norteño-style music, with accordion, bajo quinto and bass. This lively music is a hybrid of Mexican and Spanish vocal traditions with waltzes and polkas brought to Mexico by Czech and German immigrants in the mid-nineteenth century. It evolved in the north of Mexico and is now a favorite style throughout the western U.S.
The performance is part of the Winters Friends of the Library summer concert series. The series concludes on July 31 with Hot City, playing New Orleans traditional jazz, hot swing and rumba.
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs or sit on the grass and enjoy the live music. The Friends of the Library will have refreshments and used books for sale, and all proceeds will support the Winters Library. For more information, contact Keith Cary at firstname.lastname@example.org or 530-795-3173.
