“One Hundred Apocalypses and Other Apocalypses,” a new collection of short stories by Lucy Corin, is a celebration of the extraordinary and the commonplace. There will be a reading from the collection at Stories on Stage Davis beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Pence Gallery, 212 D St. Doors open at 7 p.m. The suggested donation is $5.
Corin, an associate professor in the UC Davis English department and the director of its creative writing program, spent last year at the American Academy in Rome as the 2012 John Guare Fellow in Literature. She is the author of two earlier books: “The Entire Predicament” and “Everyday Psychokillers: A History for Girls.”
In addition to providing audiences with an opportunity to meet authors, Stories on Stage Davis collaborates with local actors who interpret the works featured at each second Saturday performance. This month, Kelly Ogden will read from “One Hundred Apocalypses,” and Jessica Goldman Laskey will read “Honey Moon.”
