Visitors to the Davis Farmers Market’s Picnic in the Park celebration Wednesday will be treated to the music of the Ron Goldberg Quartet — a mix of folk, blues, country, rock oldies and calypso music featuring spirited vocals accompanied by a variety of instruments.

The celebration runs from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in Central Park, Fourth and C streets.

The market is full of seasonal produce, including cherries, strawberries, asparagus, snap peas, bok choy, greens, lettuces, herbs, citrus, carrots and potatoes plus local free-range eggs, honey, olive oil, jams, dried fruit, nuts, flowers and garden starts. Craft booths are at the north end of the market.

The food fair offers picnickers a wide array of dinner specialties. Caffé Italia will serve up “pizzas with a purpose” to benefit the Davis Farm to School Connection, alongside The Buckhorn, Ciocolat, Davis Creamery, El Mariachi, Fat Face, The Hotdogger, Kathmandu Kitchen, Monticello Bistro, Mustard Seed, Raja Indian Cuisine, Santa Fe Trading Co., Steve’s Pizza and Thai Recipes.

Diners can wash down their dinners with a glass of beer or wine, courtesy of Soroptimist International of Davis, a service club that donates all proceeds to its local charities.

Children’s entertainment includes the bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, Bouncing Bungalows, face painting and balloon maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
