Hear Sham Chorasi music in Village Homes

Sukhawat Ali Khan represents the family lineage of the 600-year-old Sham Chorasi traditional school of music, which was established during the reign of Emperor Akbar of India. His training in both classical raga and Sufi Qawwali singing began at the age of 7 under his father, legendary Pakistani/Indian vocalist Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.

He will be giving a concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the Village Homes Community Center, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. East. Tickets are $13 reserved, $15 at the door.
