From page A7 | January 22, 2014 |

Northern California singer Rita Hosking will play her country-folk music at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at The Palms Playhouse, 13 Main St. in Winters.

Hosking, winner of multiple awards, began recording and publishing in 2005 with “Are You Ready?” and followed in 2007 with “Silver Stream.” “Come Sunrise,” her 2009 record, won Best Country Album Vox Pop in the 2010. Her 2013 release, “Little Boat,” was recently selected as one of the Top 10 Country Albums of 2013 by the UK Telegraph.

The band Cousin Jack — featuring musical- and life-partner Sean Feder on melodic banjo, dobro (resophonic guitar) and harmonies; Andy Lentz on honeyed, crisp fiddle; and Bill Dakin on soulful upright bass and harmonies — will join Hosking.

Kora Feder, Rita and Sean’s 19-year-old daughter, will perform as a special guest.

Tickets are $20 and available at Armadillo Music in Davis, Watermelon Music in Woodland, and by calling 530-795-1825.
