The Pence Gallery has been hosting its annual Community Hang-Up exhibition for years. However, this year, the gallery had visitors vote for their favorite piece during the run of the exhibit. Davis artists Laurie Friedman and Susan Von Borstel tied for top honors. Friedman’s “Chinese Fisherman” and Von Borstel’s “Mare See” collected 6 percent of the 220 votes. The Curator’s Choice, bestowed by the Pence curator, was awarded to Davis artist Stacy Larson for her painting “Burgher of Calais.”
