By From page A9 | July 05, 2013

The 12th annual Landscape Exhibition from July 31 to Sept. 21 at John Natsoulas Center for the Arts, 521 First St., will celebrate the diverse California landscapes as seen through the eyes of more than 40 of the top landscape painters in the region.

This exhibition will include works by local favorites Deladier Almeida, Boyd Gavin, Leslie Toms, Phillip Gandiol, Louis Labrie, Chella and Marie Therese Brown and many others.

The exhibition will end with the Great California Paint Out on Sept. 21. On this day, 100 or so artists will flock to Davis to paint the town plein air. Registrants can paint alongside and learn from the premiere landscape painters featured in the exhibition. The completed works will be hung in a one-night-only exhibition and silent auction from 7 to 10 p.m. that night.

The event promises to be a fun evening of live music, refreshments and the chance to bid on works by favorite local artists.
