Live figure-drawing sessions resume at Art-is-Davis

By From page C7 | March 14, 2014

Art-is-Davis Co-op, 222 D St. in downtown Davis, hosts live figure-drawing sessions every week. Mondays (6 to 9 p.m.) are dedicated to short poses for gesture and fast studies, and Tuesdays (6 to 9 p.m.) are three-hour poses for portrait and full figure work.

The first and third weeks of each month are clothed sessions and the second and fourth weeks are nude sessions. Organizers strive to have a variety of body types and ages. The studio is equipped with easels, tables, stools and drawing boards; just bring your materials and energy to draw, paint or sculpt with other artists. If you’re using oil paint, please bring odorless turpentine.

A $15 drop-in fee covers the model and the space. Guided instruction is available if you are interested but are not sure how to get going.
