From page A9 | June 24, 2014 |

The Applegate Dance Company’s Collage will feature 14 short works representing a playful variety of dance styles June 26-29 at the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St.
More than 65 young artists will perform with professionals from the Sacramento Ballet, including Mate Szentes, Stephan Calka and Dylan Keane.
Included in the program are some signature Applegate Dance Company pieces and some debut dances.
Among the new pieces are “Alice in Applegateland,” a magical voyage into the world of Alice, and “The Penumbra Harvest Dance,” which tells the story of a magical, comical bird — Flirty Phoenix — that comes to life in the dark under mystical black lights.
Performance are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, June 26-28, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29.
Tickets are $14 in advance, available at Avid Reader Active, 605 Second St., and $15 at the door.
