As Christmas trees are going up and menorah are being lit, another holiday tradition is nearing: the “Home for the Holidays” concert.

Tickets are on sale now for the ninth annual community concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Veterans’ Memorial Theatre, 203 E. 14th St.

This year’s lineup includes Joe Craven, “Little Charlie” Baty’s Caravan, Rita Hosking with Cousin Jack, Chris Webster and Tracy Walton of Mumbo Gumbo in a trio with Bill Edwards, White Ginger Lei (a six-piece Hawaiian ensemble with Ray Elsie), Frank Fox’s Holiday Doo-Wop, Voice of the Wood (Heidi Bekebrede and Diana Craig), the Davis High School Jazz Choir and special guests.

Tickets are available at Watermelon Music, 207 E St., and at Armadillo Music, 205 F St., or by calling Armadillo at 530-758-8058. The cost is $20 for adults, $8 for children under 18.

The concert, produced by Bill Fairfield, is a benefit for the Davis School Arts Foundation, which supports music and arts education in Davis public schools. The show is designed to showcase nationally recognized local musicians, many of whom attended Davis public schools, and allow some younger local performers the chance to share the stage.
