By From page A10 | September 20, 2013

The Davis-based group Zapato Viejo will give a free outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Corin Courtyard, next to the Mondavi Center box office, prior to the 8 p.m. performance in Jackson Hall by the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club.

Zapato Viejo plays an eclectic collection of songs from Latin America and the United States as well as some original material. The focus of this band is Afro-Cuban polyrhythmic music, in both traditional and contemporary styles.

Light meals and refreshments will be sold at the Fusion Fresh Cafe food truck during Zapato Viejo’s outdoor performance.
