By From page A11 | October 17, 2013

James McMurtry and Chuck Prophet will both play solo sets beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at The Palms Playhouse, 13 Main St. in Winters.
McMurtry — a Texas native — uses his Americana style to chronicle the human condition and politics.
San Francisco’s Prophet specializes in a blend of rock and Americana. The 49-year-old is a sharp, prolific singer-songwriter whose songs cover the terrain of rock, indie rock, Americana, folk troubadour, psychedelic, experimental and jangle pop perfection.
Tickets are $25, available at Armadillo Music in Davis, Watermelon Music in Woodland and Pacific Ace Hardware in Winters. For more information, call 530-795-1825 or visit www.palmsplayhouse.com.
