Meeting set on State Theater project

By May 31, 2011

The Woodland Opera House, 340 Second St., will host a town hall meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday to discuss the proposed State Theater redevelopment project. The meeting is open to all interested parties.

The historic 1937 theater in downtown Woodland is unoccupied. A proposal for funding to convert the facility to a performing arts center with dance studios, classrooms and a flexible performance space will go before the Woodland Redevelopment Agency this month.

Saturday’s meeting will feature a brief presentation on the proposed uses, similar projects in the area, and historical photographs of the original exterior. Questions and input from the audience will be welcome.

For more information, contact Jeff Kean at the Woodland Opera House, (530) 666-9617.
