Misner and Smith to give concert at Capital Stage on Feb. 23

By From page A7 | February 19, 2014

Sacramento’s Capital Stage will host an evening of fresh and lyrical Americana/folk music on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., hosting the popular duo Misner and Smith — longtime favorites in Davis and Yolo County. Capital Stage is at 2215 J St.

Known for their live performances, Misner & Smith have been winning over fans for years with their songwriting, musicianship and vocal harmonies. They spent much of last year touring in support of their 2013 album “Seven Hour Storm.” The duo also have released a live album recorded at Freight and Salvage, the prominent Berkeley club.

Misner and Smith have taken a break from the road over the past few weeks, as Megan Smith has performed as an actress in the Capital Stage production of Tom Stoppard’s play “The Real Thing.”

Opening for Misner and Smith will be Capital Stage’s own Jonathan Williams (the company’s producing artistic director) performing selected songs on guitar in the Americana vein.

Tickets are $22, available at www.capstage.org or 916-995-5464.
