‘MST3K’ creators bring show to Mondavi

By From page A9 | November 02, 2011

“Cinematic Titanic” — Joel Hodgson, J. Elvis Weinsten, Mary Jo Pehl, Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff, stars of the cult classic television show “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” will bring their movie mocking to the Mondavi Center at 8 p.m. Friday. They’ll riff live beside a screen showing the 1972 science fiction bomb “Doomsday Machine.” From 1988 to 1999 on the channels now known as Comedy Central and Syfy, the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated “MST3K” featured a man and his robots forced to watch bad movies. In 2007, Time magazine named it one of its best 100 TV shows of all time. To purchase tickets, visit mondaviarts.org.
