Music and pets highlight Woodland art walk

A is for animal and art as Woodland plays host to its First Friday Art Walk on June 6.
The Music on Main 2014 series continues with a 6 p.m. performance by Yolo Mambo on Heritage Plaza, at the corner of Second and Main streets. An instrument “petting zoo” hosted by Watermelon Music /Main Street Music Studios will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Woodland Opera House will host a kitten condo with adoptable kittens from the Yolo County Animal Services Shelter and will make tours of the historic location available. A pet parade, pet costume contest and pet portraits will be part of the evening’s activities.
The Woodland Public Library, Gallery 625 and numerous other downtown locations will be hosting art exhibitions. The art installation “Prelude” at 610 Main Street, is scheduled for deconstruction at 7:30 p.m. by a group of local children. The artist, Chris Daubert, will be on hand.
