Apply soon for ‘Community Idol’

Saturday is the deadline to apply for the 2011 edition of “Community Idol,” a talent competition presented by Davis High School’s Advanced Treble Choir.

“Do you sing? Are you 18 years of age or older? Are you dreaming about your 15 minutes of fame?” asks a flier promoting the competition. “Step into the spotlight at ‘Community Idol.’ ”

The competition takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School, 315 W. 14th St. No auditions are necessary, and singers of all talent levels are welcome to apply. Applications from Davis residents will be given priority.

The winner will receive $150 and the People’s Choice Award winner will receive $50.
