Matt & George and their Pleasant Valley Boys will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans’ Memorial Theater, 203 E. 14th St. in Davis.

A contemporary country music band, the Pleasant Valley Boys are inspired by acoustic country music of the late 1940s that has come to be known as bluegrass. Their program also features the gospel singing of the Pleasant Valley Quartet.

Matt & George bring together some of the best bluegrass musicians in Northern California to play top-notch traditional bluegrass music, using banjo, mandolin, fiddle, string bass and guitar in the style of original bluegrassers Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs.

Tickets are $6 in advance, available at The Avid Reader, 617 Second St.; Armadillo Music, 205 F St.; or the Hallmark Inn, 110 F St. Tickets at the door will be $8.

For more information, call the city at (530) 757-5626 or visit www.cityofdavis.org.
