Chinese zither concert planned at Vets’ Theater

Chiffon Fu will play the Chinese zither (Guzheng) at a concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Veterans’ Memorial Theater, 203 E. 14th St. She’ll be joined by several local Chinese musicians.

Fu graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Art and was grand champion of the prestigious Taiwan National Guzheng Competition in 1990. She has played many concerts in major halls throughout Asia.

Since immigrating to the United States in 1995, she has continued her performance schedule and also teaches Guzheng.

“Chiffon has dedicated her life to the promotion and preservation of one of the most treasured Chinese musical arts, to ensure that the beautiful melody will continue to flourish for generations,” a news release said.
