Davis High orchestras wrap up their season

By From page A9 | May 22, 2012

All three of the orchestras at Davis High School will greet the coming conclusion of the academic year with a finale concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the Brunelle Performance Hall at DHS, 315 W. 14th St.

Featured will be the Baroque Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Angelo Moreno.

The music will include selections by Bach, Mozart, Bartok, Dvorak and, for a contemporary twist, Lady Gaga.

Featured performers will include trumpet soloist Spencer Park, performing the convoluted trumpet part in the well-known showpiece “Carnival of Venice” by Jean-Baptiste Arban. The concert is free and the public is invited.
