Chicken & Dumpling is on the menu from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at RootStock, a tasting room at 22 Main St. in downtown Winters. The acoustic blues duo features Charles “Chicken” Oriel on the guitar and Julia “Dumpling” Simon on the bass.

They play the down-home, delta-style blues of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy and Muddy Waters, in addition to the classic women’s blues of Bessie Smith and Sippie Wallace. For more information, visit rootstockgifts.com.

On Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., Berryessa Gap at 15 Main St. will feature contemporary, jazz and blues music by Cliff Rey. He’ll perform works by Rodgers and Hart, Gershwin, Berlin, Jobim and Ellington.
