Ira Gershwin’s music featured at Citizens Who Care benefit concert

Tickets are available now for the 20th annual Citizens Who Care benefit concert, “ ‘s Wonderful: The Great Lyrics of Ira Gershwin.”

Ira Gershwin is best known for his work with his younger brother George, producing one of the most successful and prolific collaborations in popular music history. Ira also worked with other great composers, including Kurt Weill, Jerome Kern and Harold Arlen.

The 2012 concert will be presented at the Veterans’ Memorial Center Theater, 203 E. 14th St. in Davis, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19. All seats are $30.

All proceeds will benefit Citizens Who Care, a nonprofit agency in Yolo County dedicated to improving the quality of life for the frail elderly and their family caregivers through social support programs.
