Big Band, swing and jazz music will fill Davis’ Central Park on Wednesday evening as It’s About Time performs from 5 to 8 p.m. alongside the Davis Farmers Market. This community-based jazz band’s music features many of its musicians in improvisational solos. It’s About Time has been performing together since 1996, and are Picnic in the Park favorites.

The market, open from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., is filled with spring and summer vegetables and fruits — berries, peaches, nectarines, melons, corn, tomatoes, green beans, squash and more — plus local eggs, honey, cheeses and wine.

Food vendors offers picnickers a wide array of international dinner specialties, from Mexican food to Indian naan wraps, Thai cuisine to Afghani bolanis. Caffé Italia will bring the mobile oven to the park to make “pizzas with a purpose” (benefiting the Davis Farm to School Connection). Also featured are tri-tip and chicken sandwiches, meat loaf, pasta, hot dogs, farm-fresh salads, pizza and ice pops.

Wash down your dinner with local beer and wine, poured by members of Soroptimist International of Davis, with proceeds benefiting Davis charities.

Children’s entertainment includes Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, face-painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
