Sac Choral Society performs at cathedral on March 10

The Sacramento Choral Society will present one of its “Stained Glass Concerts” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1017 11th St. in Sacramento. The program will include spirituals, chant and folk songs by contemporary composers like Morton Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre, as well as Baroque-era masters like G.P. Telemann and Heinrich Schutz. Conductor Donald Kendrick and organist Ryan Enright will work with the large chorus.

The concert is in preparation for the group’s upcoming June tour of Italy. Tickets are $25 general and $35 reserved, with students receiving a 50 percent discount, available at www.sacramentochoral.com or 916-536-9065.
