By From page A9 | December 05, 2012

The Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra return to the venerable Memorial Auditorium at the corner of 15th and J streets in Sacramento for this year’s “Home for the Holidays” concert at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The concert will mark the release of the Choral Society’s new CD, also titled “Home for the Holidays,” which was recorded last December at the Mondavi Center.

This year’s concert also includes the premiere of a newly commissioned work by composer Randol Alan Bass, which was composed to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra.

Conductor Donald Kendrick will lead the program, which includes a candlelit procession and an audience sing-along. Joining in the performance will be the Sacramento Children’s Chorus, directed by Lynn Stevens.

Tickets are $35-$45 (with a 50 percent discount for children and students with ID), available at tickets.com, www.sacramentochoral.com or by calling 916-808-5181.
