Wanted: women who love to sing

By From page A11 | December 29, 2011

If you have been known to sing in the shower or the car, covet the karaoke microphone and enjoy dancing in the aisles, the Sacramento Valley Chorus wants you.

The award-winning chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is a women’s singing group specializing in four-part harmony, a cappella singing in the barbershop style.

The group offers a wide variety of music and styles, from jazz, blues and ballads to Broadway show tunes, complete with costumes and choreography.

An informational open house is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at DDSO, 2331 St. Mark’s Way in Sacramento, between Watt and El Camino avenues. For more information, visit www.sacramentovalleychorus.com.
