The John Natsoulas Center of the Arts will host a two-day California Mural Conference and Workshop on Oct. 11-12.
The first day features lectures by John Pugh, Malaquias Montoya and Monto Kumagai. Pugh will talk about the murals of Emmy Lou Packard and Friends and give an overview of his own work. Montoya will present information on Mexican and Chicano muralism. Kumagai will be joined by the Davis Mural Team and take visitors on the Davis transmedia tour.
Day 2 will be a workshop with Pugh, who is known for creating large trompe-l’oeil wall murals, giving the illusion of a three-dimensional scene behind the wall.
