The artists who painted “Same Sun” — also known as Davis’ east area water tank — hope it tells passersby that Davis is about more than cows and bicycles.
Last week, Sofia Lacin, 27, and Hennessy Christophel, 26, spoke passionately about their work and the upcoming Summer Soltice SUNday tours they will be giving.
Part of their passion for the water tank is related to the fact that it is their first-ever public art project. In fact, Lacin and Christophel recently have been researching public art’s impact on a city or town.
“The positive changes are not instantaneous,” Lacin said. But they are undeniably positive in terms of culture and image.
Peregrine School is offering two intensive filmmaking workshops this summer for children ages 9 to 14, and there are still a few spots left.
