‘Painting on the Edge’ opens Friday

By
May 14, 2011 |

The Davis Community Gallery will host an exhibit of contemporary landscape paintings by Esparto artist Claire Haag, opening Friday with a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The gallery is at the Davis Community Clinic, 2051 John Jones Road in Davis; the exhibit will remain up through Aug. 5.

Haag was born and raised in San Francisco, turning to landscapes as artistic inspiration following her move to Yolo County, where she and her husband Jim have grown walnuts for more than 30 years.

Her artwork has been featured at the Yolo County Fair, KVIE art auction, the Art & Ag Program to benefit the Yolo Land Trust, the Herbert Bauer Building in Woodland and the Pacific Flyway exhibit at the Sacramento International Airport. Gallery exhibits have included the Blue Hills Gallery, Doiron Gallery, Gallery 625 and the Blue Wing Gallery.

Haag is a member of YoloArts, and additional information may be found at http://www.yoloarts.org/artistdetails.php?id=13.
