By May 20, 2011

Davis High School’s student government welcomes the Davis community to its first-ever event, “ThisIsIt: Best of 2011, Memories in Motion,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Brunelle Performance Hall at DHS, 315 W. 14th St.

The event will feature highlights and performances from the 2010-11 school year and “give students and their families a chance to celebrate their school’s accomplishments,” event coordinator Kristen Lee said.

Included are a slide show of past school events such as Homecoming, recognition to DHS athletic teams and entertainment by the DHS Jazz Choir, Mr. Blue Devil winner Ian Rock, Davis Idol winner Sri Ramesh, Davis Idol People’s Choice winner Simone Aldredge, DHS math teacher Jana Henry and the DHS drama department, which will perform an act from its production “A Tribute to Tony Fields: What I Did for Love.”

Lee hopes the event will “be a solid way to end the school year and have students feel connected to and proud of their school.”

Admission is free, and a reception in the courtyard of the Instructional Performing Arts Building will follow the performances.
