Jenny Lynn and Her Real Gone Daddies — Matt Dudman, guitar and vocals; Bart Van Der Zeeuw, snare drum; Jenny Lynn Williams, guitar and lead vocals; and Mark Eagleton, doghouse bass — will play their rockabilly music at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Picnic in the Park.
This four-piece, Northern California band breathes life into classic cover tunes and features retro-style original songs as well. Think Sun Records with a good dash of honky-tonk. The band has been together for three years and recently played the Solano County Fair.
Music starts at 5 p.m. and is sponsored by the Davis Food Co-op.
The market is open from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Summer season is in full swing with plenty of melons, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, greens, corn, avocados, tomatoes, peppers and strawberries plus local eggs, honey, wine, beef and lamb. Crafts are at the north end of Central Park, near Fourth and C streets.
Bring a picnic from home or buy dinner from one of the many vendors. Davis Soroptimists will pour Sudwerk beer and local wine, with proceeds going to local charities.
Children’s entertainment includes Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face-painting, pony rides by Greenwich Acres and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
