The Sacramento Ballet always presents “The Nutcracker” in December — and this year, ticket buyers have a choice.
Those who really want to hear “The Nutcracker” with a full orchestra can attend one of the six performances with live music provided by the Sacramento Philharmonic, under the baton of Henrik Jul Hansen, with tickets ranging from $33 to $90. Budget-minded ticket-buyers can choose one of the nine performances with recorded music, with tickets ranging from $19 to $75.
Both versions feature choreography by the Sacramento Ballet’s Ron Cunningham, as well as the company’s professional dancers, plus scores of area youngsters in age-appropriate supporting roles. The production opens on Dec. 7 and continues through Dec. 23, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m., and Sundays at 1 and 5 p.m.
Performances are at the Sacramento Community Center Theatre, 1301 L St. in Sacramento. For performance details, visit www.sacballet.org. To buy tickets, call the theater box office at 916-808-5181 or at www.tickets.com.
