Sacramento Ballet presents ‘Romeo and Juliet’

This season marks the 25th anniversary of choreographer Ron Cunningham as artistic director of the Sacramento Ballet, and the company will celebrate by presenting several of his best-known and most popular works. Cunningham’s “Romeo and Juliet” will be performed at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, 1301 L St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 18-20, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.¬†Cunningham has described “Romeo and Juliet” as “absolutely the best choreography of my career.” The production includes more than 200 period-inspired costumes, and action ranging from swordplay to banquets to the famous “balcony scene” between the young lovers.
