Sactopalooza features 8 tribute bands

By May 5, 2011

Raley Field in West Sacramento will play host to what’s being billed as the largest gathering of tribute bands ever on Saturday, May 14, from 4 to 11 p.m. Bands will pay tribute to the music of Journey, the Beastie Boys, U2, the Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, No Doubt, INXS and Van Halen.

Tickets are $25 each and are limited to patrons 21 and over only. All proceeds will go to regional charities, including the Mustard Seed School, March of Dimes, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Home Aide.

The concert, sponsored by the Sacramento Active 20-30 club, also will feature a fireworks display, a mechanical bull ride and two disc jockeys — each with their own dance floor.

Sacramento Active 20-30 is a group of young professionals between the ages of 20 and 39, dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged and special-needs children in the region. For tickets or more information, visit http://www.sactopalooza.com.
