The annual Bodil Wennberg Music Festival will take place on Saturday, March 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at UC Davis.
The Wennberg Festival showcases the entire Davis public school orchestra program, from elementary through high school. Kim Cole will conduct the Elementary All-City Strings orchestra, Greg Brucker will conduct the Emerson/Harper/Da Vinci Junior High Intermediate and Advanced orchestras, and Angelo Moreno will conduct the Holmes Junior High Intermediate and Advanced orchestras as well as all three Davis High School ensembles: the Baroque Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra.
This year’s Davis High School Concerto Competition winner, Victor Choi, will perform the Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2. with the DHS Symphony. The master of ceremonies will be Christian Baldini, conductor of the UCD Symphony Orchestra and the Camellia Symphony.
