The classic children’s movie “Mary Poppins” will be shown on a big outdoor screen at Fairytale Town in Sacramento at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.
In the movie Julie Andrews, portrays a magical nanny, who takes two young children on an exciting adventure into playful worlds filled with eccentric characters. Since its 1964 release, this classic movie has been popular among children and families.
The Walt Disney Production earned Julie Andrews an Academy Award for best actress for her performance as Mary Poppins. The film also won Oscars for best film editing, original music score, best song for “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and best visual effects. The movie is based on the Mary Poppins books series by P.L. Travers.
Guests are invited to bring blankets or low, beach-style chairs. No outside food or beverages will be allowed.
Tickets are $5 general, $4 for Fairytale Town members and free for children 1 and under. Tickets are available online at www.fairytaletown.org
