Senior Center studio open every Monday

By April 26, 2011

Aspiring artists who paint in oil or acrylics are welcome at the free open studio every Monday morning at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.

“Every Monday morning throughout the year, you will find people painting at the Davis Senior Center, from 8:30 to 11:30,” says spokesman Don Harting. “This means there are no scheduled classes. Each person can work on their own projects.

“Others, too, have joined the group, who are more craft-oriented. During the summer months, watercolor painters have joined us to work on their individual projects, as they do not have scheduled classes.

“Under the open studio concept, we encourage each other, share our ideas and consider it a time to work and socialize with like-minded people,” Harting says.

The artists show their work at the Davis Senior Center several times a year.

For more information, call Harting at (530) 756-4654 or stop by any Monday morning.
