Calling all wizards and rockers: It’s time for summer music camp.

The Manville Mini-Musical summer mini-camps will be offered July 14-25 and Aug. 4-15. Rehearsals will run from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at Lisa Applegate’s studio in West Davis, and then will move to the Veterans’ Memorial Theater for final rehearsals from 9 a.m. to noon.

The performances will take place on the final Friday evening of each mini-camp.
The July Mini-Musical will be composed of original songs based on the book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” and is open to students in second through sixth grades. The August Mini-Musical is the annual “Rockstar!,” which also is open to second- through sixth-graders.

Cost of the camps is $190 per person or $350 for siblings enrolling together. Included in the materials cost are the lyric script, practice CD, daily snack and complimentary seating at the performance.
Manville Mini-Musicals are lively, non-auditioned classes in learning to stage basic musical theater, and sessions focus on song and movement rather than acting. While some storyteller scenes may be added to Harry Potter, “Rockstar!” is entirely composed of song and dance to popular, age-appropriate, current songs.

For enrollment forms or more information, email Mindy Manville at minmanmusic@comcast.net.
