Sing Out! a tribute to Pete Seeger

By
From page A7 | April 02, 2014 |

The music of folk artist Pete Seeger will be highlighted at this week’s edition of Thursday Live!, a continuing series of free concerts held the first Thursday of each month at the Davis Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is open for all ages to enjoy. Donations are encouraged.

Seeger, who died Jan. 27, embodied the ideals of folk music — communication, entertainment, social comment and inclusiveness. To honor him, Thursday Live! will include many musical acts, including Bruce Barhol and Barry “The Fish” Melton, Joe Craven, Carol and Dick Holdstock, Five Three Oh!, Steve Kahn, Biscuits and Honey, David Campos and more.

Words to a few of the songs will be provided so that the audience can sing along.
