Sketchcrawl encourages drawing downtown

By From page A11 | October 16, 2012

In the spirit of the California Paint Out and the theme of Artober comes the sketchcrawl on Sunday, Oct. 21.

The sketchcrawl is free and open to anyone with an interest in drawing. It’s a good excuse to get out and draw with — and learn from or be inspired by — others who also like drawing outside.

Interested sketchers should meet at 11 a.m. at the clock fountain in the E Street Plaza. There is no fee, but participants must bring their own supplies — pens, pencils, watercolors, sketchbook, iPad, whatever. The group will disperse about downtown Davis and regroup at 3 p.m. at the same location.

Individuals can sketch in a group or by themselves, for the whole time or only part of the time. At 3 p.m., sketchers will reunite to look at each other’s sketchbooks.
