Sounds of Shakespeare at Village Homes

A Midsummer Night in Nashville is the featured act at the Village Homes Performers’ Circle on Monday, July 22, in Davis.

The musical ensemble is from the 2013 Winters Shakespeare Workshop production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” set in Nashville in 1972. The music includes country hits from Tammy Wynette and George Jones, psychedelic folk songs of the era, and old bluegrass tunes that’ll get your toes tapping.

The all-star band features Cedar Seeger on guitars, Steve O’Neill on pedal steel, Dwight Howard on bass, Petr Janata on keys and Aidan Delplanque on violin. Laura Sandage directs, and teen cast members sing.

The Village Homes Performers’ Circle is a free event. It features performers of all levels and creative expressions, and is held the fourth Monday of each month. Sign-up begins at 6:45 p.m., with sign-up performances from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. The featured act performs from 8:30 to 9 p.m.

Village Homes Performers’ Circle is held at the Village Homes Community Center, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. East, Davis. For more information,call 530-756-3611.
