On Wednesday, the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at UC Davis will release held tickets to UCD students between noon and 6 p.m. The Mondavi Center holds back up to 10 percent of the house for each Jackson Hall performance that otherwise would sell out during the subscription phase. More information about the events in the 2012-13 season is available at mondaviarts.org.
“We feel it is important for all students to have the opportunity to see the performances that interest them during our 10th anniversary season,” said Mondavi Center marketing director Rob Tocalino. “Many of our more popular events sell out before students arrive on campus. We want to make sure that they don’t miss out.”
UCD students can buy tickets at the Mondavi Center Ticket Office with their student ID. First year freshman, graduate and transfer students each receive one free ticket during their first year. This offer is good for any Mondavi Center Presents program and UCD department of music and department of theater and dance event.
All students receive 50 percent off ticket prices. Only one ticket per student ID can be purchased at half-price for each event.
“The student on-sale date is a great opportunity for students to get tickets to high-demand shows like Lang Lang, Eddie Izzard, Yo-Yo Ma and Joshua Bell,” Tocalino said.
Tickets to the high-demand events should be purchased in person at the ticket office between noon and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Any tickets that are not sold that day will be released for sale to the general public.
Tickets for the 2012-13 Mondavi Center season are on sale now at 530-754-2787 and mondaviarts.org.
