The Blue Tones will be the featured performers from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Village Homes Performers’ Circle, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. East, Davis.
The Blue Tones have been playing the Great American Songbook and jazz standards throughout the region for more than five years. Known for Lynette Kimura’s lead vocals, the Blue Tones’ tight, compact renditions elicit echoes of the swing era, straight-ahead jazz with a modern bluesy interpretation.
At the Performers Circle, the Tones will tell America’s musical history through jazz standards, ballads, blues and pop tunes. The lineup includes Steve Harvey on keyboards, Paul Drobny on guitar, Jamie Knapp on string bass and Devo Bell on drums.
The Village Homes Performers’ Circle is a free event. It features performers of all levels and creative expressions, and takes place on the fourth Monday of each month (except December). Sign-up begins at 6:45 p.m., with sign-up performances from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. and the headliners taking the stage thereafter.
