“Jump blues” music by The Hucklebucks will liven up Central Park on Wednesday during the weekly Picnic in the Park celebration. The fun runs alongside the Davis Farmers Market from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in Central Park, Fourth and C streets in downtown Davis.
The Hucklebucks have been playing around Northern California for 12 years, and released their fourth CD, “Juke Box Blues,” this year.
The market is full of seasonal produce, including apricots, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, plums, tomatoes, corn, tomatoes, snap peas, string beans, bok choy, greens, lettuces, herbs, carrots and potatoes. Farmers also are offering local free-range eggs, honey, olive oil, jams, dried fruit, nuts, flowers and garden starts.
Hungry? Caffé Italia presents “Pizza with a Purpose” to benefit the Davis Farm to School Connection, with toppings sourced from local farmers. Or, visit booths operated by The Buckhorn, Ciocolat, Davis Creamery, El Mariachi, Fat Face, The Hotdogger, Kathmandu Kitchen, Monticello, Mustard Seed, Raja Indian Cuisine, Santa Fe Trading Co., Steve’s Pizza and Thai Recipes.
Members of Soroptimist International of Davis will pour beer and wine, with proceeds benefiting local charities.
Children’s entertainment includes the bicycle-powered carousel, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, bounce houses, face painting and balloon-maker Dilly Dally the Clown.
