The Sharks 2.0 — Day Griffin, slide guitar; Mike Kahn, percussion; and Wayne Vincent, bass — bring their all instrumental renditions of great rock melodies to Picnic in the Park from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Davis Farmers Market in Central Park, Third and C streets in Davis.

The Sharks use a melodic interweaving of bass, slide guitar and percussion to push the boundaries of rock to include shades of jazz, bluegrass and world music.

The market, which is open from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., is packed with late-summer and fall fruits and vegetables, plus local eggs, honey, cheeses and wine. There’s fun for the whole family, including an international food fair, a beer and wine concession (to benefit local charities), two playgrounds, Central Park’s bicycle-powered carousel, bounce houses, Rocknasium’s climbing structure, face-painting and balloon-maker Silly Dilly the Clown.
