The streets will be alive with “The Sound of Fashion” during the Second Friday ArtAbout in downtown Davis. The Wardrobe will host the multimedia event from 4 to 9 p.m. featuring informal fashion shows twice an hour, the screening at 8 p.m. of a fashion video shot in Cuba by owner Heather Caswell at 8 p.m., and promotional gifts. Music will be provided by DJ Eminent Bee.

The fashion shows will showcase fall designs from Desigual, a Barcelona company. Models will be local, ranging from high school students to retirees. Sandy Ramirez from Desigual USA will be on hand to meet visitors to The Wardrobe.

Hannah Cole-Leathers, a frequent visitor to The Wardrobe since her mother first started shopping there, will be one of the models. She hopes to study fashion marketing in college. Another local high school student, Rowan Labbé-Renault, will help behind the scenes with hairstyles and model preparations. She hopes to pursue a career in professional makeup. Also assisting with hair and makeup will be Stacia Ruskawicz and Olivia Salcido of Pomegranate Salon in downtown Davis.

“Fashion is music to the eyes, and Desigual is the perfect line to inspire ‘The Sound of Fashion,’ ” Caswell said in a news release. “I have been working closely with the synergy of fashion and music for many years.”
