Three music recitals planned March 20

By
March 12, 2011 |

The Music Teachers’ Association of California, Yolo County Branch, presents three recitals featuring piano and string students who received honors recognition for their participation in the Certificate of Merit program recently in Davis.

Certificate of Merit, established in 1934, is a “total musicianship” syllabus that guides teachers to help their students develop proficiency in the art of making music. In Yolo County, 260 students participated in the program this year.

The Branch Honors recitals will take place Sunday, March 20, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road. Recitals are at 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. Admission is free, and a reception will follow each recital.

For details about the recitals or about the Music Teachers’ Association of California, call Marceline Lee at (530) 574-1658.
