Tomato Festival makes call for young artists

Tuleyome Home Place Adventures will host a “Tommy Tomato” Art Contest at the Woodland Tomato Festival on Saturday, Aug. 9. Tommy Tomato is the mascot of the festival, which is sponsored by the Woodland Farmers Market every year.

Artwork theme must include at least one “tomato-like” element of any kind; the rest is up to the child’s imagination. Entries may include drawings, poems, collages or paintings. All entries must include the child’s name, age, contact number and email address.

First-, second- and third-place awards will be given in the following age categories: 3 years and under, 4 to 7 years, 8 to 12 years, 13 to 15 years and 16 to 18 years.

The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, Aug. 1. Artwork should be mailed or dropped off by 5 p.m. at Tuleyome’s office, 607 North St., Woodland, CA, 95695.
