Trio 7 concludes guitar series

Trio 7, a guitar trio who play extended seven-string guitars, concludes the Davis Art Center’s Classical Guitar Series. Trio 7’s focus is on the creation of unusual transcriptions of classical orchestral works to expand the guitar trio repertoire.

The program at 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Art Center, 1919 F St., will include works by Debussy, Bach, Rachmanioff, Stravinsky, Brahms, Faure and Davis’ own Matthew Grasso.¬†Arrangements of movie themes ranging from the 1930s to the present also will be included.

The members are Grasso, who organized the guitar series, Eric Rasmussen and Matthew Foley.
