Trokanski offers dance classes for seniors

By From page A9 | January 28, 2014

As part of their community outreach program, the Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre funds free classes for seniors 65 and older at the PTDW facility, 2720 Del Rio Place in Davis.

The Second Wind dance class combines a jazz warm-up with ballet and contemporary technique at a technical level appropriate for mature movers who may have little or no previous dance training.

The name comes from the phrase that means “renewed energy,” and is designed for seniors who would like to invite movement into their lives and keep both mind and body active, flexible and balanced.

Participants should come dressed in clothing that is comfortable to move around in. This class is offered on Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
